Job Description

We are looking for a Procurement Engineer to join our Ivory Coast team and help manage our organization’s procurement needs. Procurement Engineer responsibilities include researching new suppliers, ensuring that all purchased products and materials meet our specifications, and negotiating with vendors as needed. Ultimately, you will work with leaders in our organization to understand the needs of our organization and ensure we achieve our supply goals in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities would include:
  • Identification of scope / all requirements in requisition for purchase.
  • Develop procurement schedule / plans for the purchase of Materials amp; equipment
  • Conduct industry research to identify potential suppliers
  • Negotiate contracts / agreements for purchasing of materials and best deal for pricing and supply contracts.
  • Following and enforcing the company's procurement policies and procedures.
  • Reviewing, comparing, analyzing, and approving products and services to be purchased.
  • Handles procurement and logistics operations
  • Projects estimation, and preparation of technical submittals based on Consultant’s approved vendors
  • Monitoring Cost Control, ensure all Purchase Orders are properly assigned
  • Forecast and consumption review on monthly basis for inventory mitigation amp; covering material for smooth supply
  • Keep updated with market developments and assist in Vendor Development.
  • Prepare purchase proposals, request quotes, and negotiate purchase terms and conditions
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders and agreements
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues and concerns
  • Inspect and evaluate the quality of purchased items and resolve shortcomings
  • Analyze industry and demand trends and support senior management with the development and implementation of sourcing strategies


To be considered, you must have:

  • Proven work experience (at least 5 years) as a Procurement Engineer or similar role/ materials procurement sourcing with the main contractor
  • Good working knowledge of purchasing strategies
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Skilled in Supplier Negotiation, International Procurement, Logistics Management, and Materials
  • Possessed with strong Management skills amp; Teamwork Managed all aspects of Strategic and Tactical Procurement and Supplier Management
  • Confident communicator (written and verbal) in English and French
  • Confident communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with suppliers
  • Proficient IT skills including MS Excel, Word and comfortable with numerical reasoning
  • Ability to problem-solve independently and with others
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and with business application software, purchasing and resource planning systems
  • Degree or Diploma in Engineering or Quantity Surveying
  • Experience in Healthcare industry desirable but not mandatory
  • Experience in Modular and Warehouse Building industry desirable but not mandatory
