Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Country Manager to oversee all staff, budgets, and operations of our Ivory Coast business unit. Country Manager responsibilities include formulating overall strategy, managing people, and establishing policies. The ideal candidate will be very hands-on and have experience of mobilizing and supporting and directing multiple operations. To be successful in this role, you should be a thoughtful leader and a confident decision-maker, helping our people develop and be productive while ensuring our profits are on the rise. Responsibilities
  • Identify, develop and direct the implementation of business strategy covering aspects of Performance, Administration and Finance, Human Resources, Customer amp; Client Relations, Partner relations, Operations, Management Control, Budgets, Business Development and Tender/ Bid document collaboration, Contracts administration/management, Marketing plans among others.
  • Direct functions and performance via the senior management team.
  • Execute any other task to ensure the success of the business and organizational responsibilities with a view to improving profitability. Provide solutions to issues (e.g. profit decline, employee conflicts, loss of business to competitors)
  • Effectively represent and promote the company at public and industry events and functions and in the media - Official spokesman.
  • Developing and pitching ideas for potential new business opportunities
  • Encouraging new and existing clients by creating and improving proposals
  • Working with executives to implement marketing strategies and new opportunities
  • Supervise the elaboration tenders/bid documentation to obtain new contracts and retain existing ones.
  • Responsible for developing new revenue streams on both existing and new contracts.
  • With the help of the team, elaborate managerial documents and ensures their accuracy.
  • Ensure the Company acts as a Good Corporate Citizen.
  • Ensure National Content requirements are fulfilled with all stakeholders.
  • Provide the operational leadership in maintaining a productive, cost-effective, safe, and legal workplace.
  • Ensure strong and supportive relationships are built and maintained with the various partners, clients and stakeholders.
  • Recruiting, managing, and supervising staff efficiently and effectively to successfully carry out your responsibilities - Oversees the development of human resources
  • Ensures compliance with applicable local, national, industry, Client, and joint venture health, safety, and environment (HSE) laws, regulations, procedures, processes, and management systems including statutory requirements.
  • Implement policy changes in line with company standards, code of ethics, and applicable laws and guidelines.
  • Ensuring that finances are responsibly and rigorously managed and reported and that an effective risk management system is in place.
  • Deliver safe and profitable Company operations Responsible for the Pamp;L and Budget Delivery
  • Overall management, financial, commercial, administration, operational, technical, procedural, and contract authority for the Company.
  • Overall management of the Business - guarantees company financial performance Specific Responsibilities
  • Execute the responsibilities of the Country Manager according to lawful and ethical standards
  • Work with and report to supervisor on organizational plans and performance.
  • Maintain and develop organizational culture, values, and reputation of the company with all staff, customers, suppliers, partners, and regulatory/official bodies.
  • Plan and direct the organization’s activities to achieve stated/agreed targets and standards for financial and trading performance, quality, culture, and legislative adherence.

Requirements

To be considered for the role, you must have:

  • Proven experience as a General Manager or similar executive role; between 8-10 years of experience in a senior management role in the construction industry, preferably have worked with the main contractor
  • Experience in the engineering construction sector (focus on logistics, warehouses, and/or healthcare)
  • Proven experience managing projects with camp capacities of an average of 300+ persons on board
  • Degree in Engineering or relevant field; MSc/MA is a plus
  • Experience in planning and budgeting
  • Knowledge of business processes and functions (finance, HR, procurement, operations, etc.)
  • Strong analytical ability
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership skills
  • Problem-solving aptitude
  • Excellent Project Management skills and ability to lead and influence a team with a diverse background and collaborate with
