We are looking for a Site Manager to solve problems quickly in our current construction warehouses and healthcare projects in multiple locations on Ivory Coast. For this job, you need to have an engineering degree and be familiar with the technical aspects of machines, equipment, and technology used in different field projects. You should be an excellent problem-solver and be able to manage crises when they arise.
Key Responsibilities would include:
- Overseeing, monitoring, and managing the progress of construction projects
- Ensuring the safety of construction sites by making safety inspections and enforcing safety guidelines and protocols
- Working cooperatively and liaising with clients and/or potential stakeholders and update them on progress
- Ensuring that contractors and staff/workers are motivated and focused
- Overseeing and managing budgets throughout construction projects
- Preparing, coordinating, and writing site reports, drawings, and other necessary documents.
- Communicate with clients to determine needs and explain complex issues
- Conduct research and studies on site
- Manage field activities and implement engineering designs
- Diagnose construction problems
- Resolve malfunctions or other crises when they arise
- Ensure proper maintenance of onsite equipment
- Supervise and direct onsite crew (e.g. technicians)
- Draft and submit required site reports
Requirements
To be considered for the role, you must have/ be:
- Excellent project management skills, since the job of a construction site manager requires him or her to complete projects on time and achieve construction milestones and deliverables
- Previous experience as a site manager or similar role (5 years minimum)
- Well-versed in technical aspects of field projects, including machinery and equipment
- Understanding of safety guidelines
- Attention to detail
- Outstanding communication skills
- Excellent communicator in English and French languages
- An analytical mind and strong problem-solving ability as he or she must tackle and resolve issues that may arise during the construction process
- Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or other related fields.
- Ability to work in adverse weather and occasional overtime and weekends
- Available to travel extensively within the country
- Budgeting and/or financial management skills that enable a construction site manager to ensure that projects remain profitable and that all costs are in compliance with client budgets
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, since he or she must convey information to contractors, clients, architects, engineers, and staff
